Shotgun Trainning

The basic shotgun course teaches you the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving clay target. This is at least a 10 hour course and includes both at home professional hands on training and live fire range time learning how to hit a moving target (clay pigeons). You will be taught; NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, shotgun parts and operation, shotgun ammunition, shooting fundamentals, shooting at straight away and angled targets, shotgun care, and continued opportunities for skill development.

Don’t have 10+hours but still want to learn the sport of shotgun shooting? NRA FIRST Steps Shotgun orientation course was designed for you. This course is at least 3 hours long and is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific shotgun model. Like the basic shotgun course this course includes both at home professional hands on training and live fire range time allowing you to hone your skills at hitting moving clay targets with your shotgun. You will be taught; NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, your particular shotgun model parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, basic care, and continued opportunities for skill development.

SPECIAL NOTE: The live fire portion of this course can only be given outside in an open range with minimal cover so you will be subject to the environment and appropriate clothing should be worn (sunscreen, bug spray, cool comfortable clothing, etc.)
